HISTORY -

TJ's powers manifested very young...when he kept telling his parents that his vision was fuzzy, very fuzzy, but only sometimes. They took him to an optometrist to have his vision checked. Though, while in the chair, TJ found himself scared and intimidated by all the equipment and of the doctor as well. His pulse raced and his adrenaline flowed...so much so that when the doctor lowered the phoropter in front of his eyes, TJ's fear peaked and activated his mutant gene. TJ didn't realize this, because it wasn't some flashy, fiery, telekinetic pyre of DOOM...but as the doctor slid each lens into place...TJ saw something completely different and amazing. His eyes perceived something different each time. He saw incredible sights along with terrors worse than nightmares. The whole experience was so traumatizing (though they put him through it anyway) that his powers were somewhat blocked from it. He couldn't do anything about it willingly or knowingly...and every time he tried to explain it to his parents, the more concerned they became and the more hush-hush the subject grew.

Until...one fateful day, while TJ and the Becketts were out about town, driving in their SUV. TJ suddenly screamed and took cover...exactly four seconds before a large pick-up slammed into the front passenger side of their vehicle. The truck nearly ripped the SUV in half, almost completely separating the front half from the rear. It was a horrible, brutal...and fatal car accident. Both TJ's parents were killed. But he never knew this.... At least not right away. For TJ, his parents were right there after everything grew still. They encouraged him to climb from the wreckage and follow them out to safety as more people came to the scene in shock. They surrounded TJ, but would not embrace him or speak to him. People flocked around TJ and peppered him with questions and concerns. Police arrived quickly...and took TJ away from his parents to await medical attention. TJ complained that he wanted to see his parents...and that's when he was told that they did not make it. Confused, TJ cried and explained that they had been right with him. The police insisted otherwise...and TJ was forced to realize that they had gone.

Though from that day on, TJ's deceased mother and father have stayed with him at almost all times. Their ghostly forms follow and protect TJ, keep him company and "speak" to him in their own way. He cannot hear them, and he cannot touch them...but they do communicate. None of them question why or how TJ can see them, they only treasure that he can. But TJ's parents know why...they understand now, what with TJ's "acting out" as they thought it was and with what happened at the optometrist's and, also, how he "predicted" the accident...they knew he was a mutant. They pointed him in the right direction since then: Xavier's Institute. And that's what he has told everyone around him...and amazingly, child services and the court system has agreed and allowed him to attend. His name was added to the new arrivals roster.

POWERS -

TJ's mutation is a difficult one to explain. He doesn't even really realize what it is...or when he's using it. He has the ability to see anything. His sight knows no bounds. He can use his eyes to see whatever he wants, whether it be through walls, very far away, incredibly microscopic, through space, into the supernatural and possibly even time (as seen during the car accident). TJ doesn't know how to control it, he doesn't know what it does, or what he is capable of. If his eyes are covered, however, by something that he could not normally see through (i.e. a blindfold), then he cannot use his ability. Meaning he cannot see past anything that is right in front of his eyes. There must be at least a small distance in front of his eyes. It is not hindered, though, by glasses or see-through objects. TJ apparently has a slight sensitivity to bright lights, and is susceptible to sudden, drastic increases of light.
