---History--

David grew up very much happy, with a family who cared for him and who would do anything for him. David's powers manifested when he was 13 and swimming in the pool. He was thrown into the pool, playfully, by a friend, but he hit his head on the diving board. His powers immediately went haywire and he started generating more and more water. The pool quickly overflowed, and everyone nearby was too scared to jump in and save David until, luckily, one of his friends got the nerve enough to jump in and pull David out. After that, David spent nearly five years overcoming a fear of drowning.

In that time, David tried to understand what was happening to him...and to come to terms with the fact that he is a mutant. After the whole incident, he couldn't keep his ability a secret - everyone knew. Thankfully, his parents understood that he had no control over being a mutant, and accepted him for what he was. Through a friend of the family, David's parents learned about the Xavier Institute and suggested David move there. He did, and he completed high school there. After that, David decided to stay and take college courses, aiming for a bachelors - but he doesn't know what to major in yet.

In other news, David is on one of the X-Men teams at the school, having shown his abilities in tests and in combat. He is Hydro, of the X-Treme Silver training team, led by Christian Reid. In combat, David prefers to fight with as much skin exposed as he can, and will often remove his shirt and shoes, in order to allow as much water absorption as possible. His X-apparel includes water-shoes - with bottoms that allow him to run over rough surfaces without harming himself, but with meshy tops so water can get in - tight, wet-suit cut offs, which will reach down to his knees; the X-Treme belt with x-comm and black leather fingerless gloves. He would sometimes wear a light, jacket-like top over that, black with yellow trim, that is made of the same wet-suit material, but not as tight. This is short-sleeved and reaches down to his waist. That is Hydro's normal combat-wear. If it is light enough outside, he'll wear sunglasses to protect his eyes.

---Powers--

Power-wise, Hydro has a very good handle on his powers. He's able to produce a good amount of water from absolutely nothing, about 15,000 gallons at a time...before he needs to rest and refresh. He can shape the water he produces, being a hydrokinetic, and has complete control over it. His water carries his genetic signature in it, which gives him exclusive control over it. Any other hydrokinetics or molecular-altering powers cannot affect the water from the inside by taking control of it, or molecularly changing the properties. That can only be done from the outside, environmentally. For example, if someone were to decrease the temperature around the water, it would freeze.

David can do all sorts of things with his water -

- He can form it into a sort of water-bomb, as it "explodes," or pops, with a good amount of force when it contacts, sort of like a super water balloon. If it hits, even when thrown with little energy, the impact is enough to dent metal. David forms these in his hands, and then chucks them however he likes...and can even further expedite the arrival to his foe by taking mental control of the ball and speeding it along. If David can release many of these, they can be quite devastating to who he is facing.

- David can fire thin streams of water at extreme, pressurized speeds. He has succeeded in piercing concrete with these. These form by creating a tiny sphere of water at the tip of his finger - usually - and then building up an unreal amount of pressure inside before opening the ball and letting the stream fly forward at speeds on par with gunfire. If he can pierce concrete, he can definitely pierce flesh. Though David is not the "killing" type, and controls the pressure usually to be more along the lines of paintball or bean bags, so that they're painful and disabling.

- Another of David's abilities, if need be, is to release an enormous amount of water to wash things away. He avoids using this, and saves it for a last resort or a sort of "in dire need" situation, because it drains him. Controlling so much water and releasing so much from within himself weakens him and, if it empties his supply, he'd pass out and have to replenish. Though, if he uses existing water, it shouldn't be as taxing.

- David has experimented with water pressure. And has found that if he creats a water-shell around his enemy he can make the molecules more and more dense, applying heavier and heavier pressure onto the shell and the person within. It is conceivable, then, that David could pick up objects and move them by creating a water-shell around them. He could also increase the pressure so much that he crushes whoever is trapped within.

- Of course, there's the obvious - water spouts, pumps, slashes and tentacles, etc. David hopes that his mutation includes a way to control the temperature of the water. Conceivably so, because he can move the molecules all together...just not individually. David will be training to try and unlock a way to do this.

Since the water David creates is absolutely pure with no imperfections in it at all, it is actually a very poor conductor of electricity. It is not commonly known that pure water is actually a much better insulator than a conductor, and David could help disperse electricity with his water, or use it as a shield if he's facing an electrically-charged foe. It should also be noted that David's water is rather cool, chilled even, naturally. About cold tap temperature. It would be comfortable to drink on a hot day.

David's most recent mutation development has been his sudden growth of gills. These four slits are on the sides of his neck, up behind his ears (two per each side), and, while closed, only look like hair-thin lines on his skin. David has the ability to switch between breathing systems at will, making him amphibious. Thus far, he has not had difficulties processing different kinds of water (meaning he is not exclusively fresh-water or salt-water).

Though there are downfalls, though - first off, once David uses all the water he can produce at a time, he grows very weak and even sometimes passes out. At this point, more water must be absorbed by touch. If David is unconscious, water absorption is somewhat automatic, but very slow. Much like a fish out of water, David must rejuvenate through physical contact with water of any kind. It's not an instant thing either. David has to absorb almost half of what he normally retains until he's back to normal strength.

With more practice and time, perhaps David will fine-tune his powers even more, becoming a master of water.
