HISTORY -

Alan wasn't always into journalism. That's a new fascination. He used to be all into music, sports and skateboarding with the buds. That is until he discovered his mutation. Alan found that he can render himself completely invisible...even his clothes. He started having fun with that, using it for his own personal gain, of course. So just imagine his fun when he found he could also stick to walls and ceilings...pretty much any surface he wanted to. "Like fuckin' Spider-Man!" were his words.

The idea of writing for a paper came from someone else. One of the editors for the school paper found him one day, scaling the cafeteria wall...and instead of ratting on him or dissing him, she gave him the thought of spying on people...getting their dirty secrets and publishing them in the paper. All he had to do was carry a tape recorder around with him...and he could listen in on all sorts of conversations, even bust drug deals and all sorts of serious stuff. She said he could make lots of money if he ever went pro to the newspapers with this ability.

That intrigued him, of course...and ever since, he's worked on building a rep within the high school as a star reporter. Two and a half years on the paper staff and taking writing classes and journalism classes. He uncovered many stories around the campus, including secret romances and kids bullying other to do their homework and other small-time things. Once he got into CC though, Alan went right to the school paper. Here, he got into more important stories...including a huge scandal involving three of the teachers, all of whom had spouses of their own, and one student. He blew the lid on this after a good amount of investigation and won a school award for the article he wrote. Everybody was amazed at how Alan was able to obtain the information he did...wanting to know his methods and how he does it.

Alan never revealed his secret, though.

Still in college, Alan's looking for a job at the Daily Bugle, wanting to tackle bigger game...and make a name for himself. Not to mention the money would be nice. He feels he can offer the Bugle something new...stories that nobody else would be able to get, because of his abilities.

POWERS -

Alan has a dual power that really aids in his espionage endeavors.

His first ability is that he can cloak himself entirely. This is a conscious act. He can cloak anything touching his skin, as long as he actively choses to make it invisible. But he has a limit...he can't just make anything disappear. If he's touching something, he can extend his invisibility in a four foot diameter around him. Beyond that shield of protection he has no power. Mostly this ability is used on himself and whatever objects he may be carrying on his person.

Alan's other ability is his self-adhesiveness. He can stick to just about any surface by sheer will. This, also, is a conscious act. If he forgets to stick, he'll fall. The only problem with this ability is it doesn't do well when Alan isn't using direct skin contact with the surface to which he's clinging. The adhesiveness applies to about everywhere on Alan's body...everywhere he's checked, that is. Alan hasn't had much of a problem with the strength of his stickiness so far, but he hasn't experimented with weight limits and all that. If he were to, he'd discover that he can hold up one other adult person at average weight with some strain. He'll really have to concentrate on holding himself up. Anything beyond that, and he won't be able to hold onto the surface any longer. Hopefully with time and growth, that'll change.
